Hi Everyone - I am a first time chicken owner of 4 Rhode Island Reds. A relative was giving theirs away and my husband and I thought this would be a good way to see if we’d like having chickens. I have 3 chickens in a coop and 1 in assisted living, the basement . We had to remove her because her tail was bleeding and she’s become my baby girl ever since. She doesn’t walk well and needs her wings for balance. She wants nothing to do with the other chickens. Whenever they would be together chicken little would come running to me and want me to pick her up. She loves to be held and seems to prefer being alone. There are so many questions I have about her. She is so different than the others.
On a different note, I am married with 2 boys and a dog. I think the chickens are amazing and are pretty funny to watch.
