OK folks... Another update!
So I had a rooster leaving yesterday, and I try NOT to let anybody go without checking them for parasites first. Sure enough when we turned him over and spread feathers on his vent there WERE mites running away! I knew the boys hadn't been treated in a while because my access door into the night time coop has been off it's hinge, so I've only been letting them in and out their pop door.
We sprayed with the permethrin and saw instant death to said parasites.
SOOOO, don't be lax even if one bird appears clean!
My girls had been treated with permethrin more recently than the boys and so not finding stuff on her even by the doc says to me that it IS working well. Now to make sure I don't get too comfortable using this product so the parasites don't get too comfortable with being exposed to it.... And now to kill off the rats that are trying to keep populations of parasites thriving!
