Chicken Math Got Me Bad....

Only things keeping my chicken math down are not having a rooster plan (can't have any here :( ) and lack of coop space!

...and the fact that chick days are over at TSC :lau
Yeah. I think TSC is on the chicken math’s side!

…. So I got an incubator.

In peep news today, everyone is still going strong. Gimpy even looks to be starting to use her bad leg a little bit more. I managed to pick her up and did notice the hock on her bad leg is slightly larger than her good leg. No redness tho. Maybe she got squished in the shipping box and had an injury.

I can’t wait until they get a bit bigger and feathered up more so I can give them an opening in the brooder to start venturing out and exploring.

10 became 20. 20 became 30, then 40, then 50... then the laws of physics broke down completely and BAM! Stopped counting over 100.

Now I got turkey math, and that's another ball of wax. They are like a bunch of puppy dogs and given the chance, will follow me around all day. So got 14 now after starting with 2. The coop i built for them is bigger than my other chicken coops combined. They love to play peeping Tom while I'm in the bathroom, and that's on the second floor.

These two finally got names. Laverne and Shirley.

It got down to 30° last night in the run. The coop near the floor stayed about 40°.

All the chicks were active and spunky this morning. Even Gimpy was out bopping around. She’s able to put enough weight on her bad leg that she can now lean over and peck at stuff on the ground.

Have to remember to switch out the batteries in the auto door and plug in the adult’s heated waterer.
