Chicken math prevailed!

Yeh my ol' lady, oops I mean boss, has the same inoculation device. I prefer to cook with cast iron, but I am thinking about switching to all aluminum teflon, just for malleability.

Yep you are dead on with the idea of aluminum. I prefer cast iron myself but you have to view it in the same manner as buying "The Boss" a sidearm. My father told me years ago which was good advice when I was looking to purchase my wife a handgun. He said and I quote " Son, you do realise you are about to give a handgun to the one person you are going to pissoff the most in this world?" Needless to say, I ended up buying her a pushbroom and a puppy dog.

Your Father is a wise man.

As I set here showing these to the "Boss", she says "I have never hit you in the head with a cast iron pan!", and smiled. I am thinking that she shouldn't have to be that specific.
*((she just snickered and called me a "prince", (I'll let you guess the real word), while I am typing this.))
Me: "Anything else to add?"
Her: "Meh.....Nah."

I should have been a stenographer. :lau

LMAOOOOO.... When I read to the boss what I was typing she said and I quote "Careful before you get inoculated a second time!" I would say my wife has never hit me in the head with a cast iron pan but then I would be telling a lie.

Ssshhhh.....my better half almost heard, and she knows you will actually refrain from buying more. Don't want her to know it works. We will end up cookin with mess kits. Is that what the eye in cast iron handles is for? I always thought it was for hanging on a nail, but it might be for a pad lock.

My wife uses in the eye in handle for a heavy leather wrist lanyard. :duc

Y'all, I'm pages behind. I went away for a bit while trying to deal with getting everything ready in a temp coop/tractor outside and trying my best to predator proof. Going to go through and read each post.

We lost our first baby to a predator (most likely a cat, probably right before I went outside. It came back to collect the rest of my beloved Nevermore in the time I came back inside to grab more feed) last weekend and have since further predator proofed. We also go on patrols and send the dogs out to patrol all different times of the night. Feel certain it will come back. Chicken Man is setting a trap in case it does. We're fairly certain it's this feral cat that roams our neighborhood.

I feel extremely lucky that we hadn't lost one of our 30 before anyone could make it outside and even more lucky that, even though she was my favorite, only one was killed and not half or all of the flock. Still stinks either way.

Can't wait to see what chicken math has done for all of you while I was gone! I told Chicken Man that we must replace Nevermore with 6 more chicks... He's still not speaking to me. :idunno

Everybody should have their second baby first. Second babies are SOOO much easier! (Tongue firmly planted in cheek!)

Ya know, my first is Deaf and Autistic... We had to learn a whole new language, every day is a fight for something he has a right to, routines have to be adhered to or chaos ensues... and yet still, HE is the easy one. :lau:lau I'm a lot different kind of mom with my second (oh, you wanna lick the floor? Okay, well, build up that immune system!) than I ever was with my first (Germ-X, EVERYONE!) but she's proven, so far, to be my challenge. She's a pistol.

This literally turned into a talk thread... lol I like it :)

Me too!!!! :love:love:love

Thank you for sharing! We went yesterday for cat food and left with 4 more chicks... smh. I can't resist the fuzzies!

AH!!!!! Adorable babies!!!!! :jumpy:celebrate

My TSC has Anconas and Penedesencas (sp?) right now, and I'm trying like heck not to come home with some of each. We just bought 4 the other day (2 full-sized Cochins, and 2 Brahmas), and before that, we got 2 speckled sussex and 2 brown leghorns, and before that, we got 4 EEs, and an Isa Brown, and before that...you get the idea!:D My husband is :he and my daughter and I are :wee .

Oooo!!! All kinds of breeds! Fun!!!!

I have cash from selling my hens, and while my TSC doesn't have chicks right now, there is a farm swap there on Saturday. :gig

Hahahah.... I saw you ordered your Jersey Giants!!! Did you end up with chicks from the farm swap? Have I not gotten that far yet and there's a yes in my future???? The excitement!

I have to go to TSC tomorrow... pray to god i don't bring anymore chick babies home!

You got them, right??? I'm not any further than this yet.... I'm hoping I see a post that says you got them after this.... hahaha.. I wasn't here to be an enabler!!!!
