*sigh*... I should have known...

Instead of 10 Delawares, I came home with....

11 Delawares
11 Black Giants

I am a fool for saying 10.

Chicken math - gotta love it!
Seven years ago I started with 12 guineas, added 12 pullets and two roos, added 16 more pullets, added 12 more pullets, added 9 ducks. I have lost all the guineas to cars and predators, some of the hens to predators and three to a school bus, BUT, thanks to an incubator I am up to 95 chickens and 11 ducks and I have turkey and ducks eggs coming in the mail as I write! I see an auction near me this next saturday has an incubator for sale........since I will have my LG full of turkey and duck eggs, chicken math says I need to go see about getting another incubator in case I want to ummm, well, maybe I NEED to hatch more chicken eggs??!!!!! In my defense, I have a lot of good customers buying my eggs!!!

I always prided myself for being pretty good at math! I had grand plans for 10-15. I have 31 as of the 12th and find myself looking for more???

Chicken math....such an evil concept, lol. We wanted 6..ordered 12 (incase we lost a few, or some were Roos) all 12 are alive, pullets and well. Got three more, than three again. So we're up to 18 now, triple what we wanted. I love all my ladies (except the Australorp, lol) If I went into a store tomorrow that had chicks, I'd walk out with some in an instant. My 'babies' are 3.5wks old, I need fluffies!!! lol
