Explain your personal chicken math.
I was supposed to only get 4, that quickly turned to 5. Then hubby agreed to 2 for his son, that turned to 3 before we even left the store. I always wanted Silkies, you guessed it now have 5! I got brave and mail ordered 3, I get a free chick so that makes 4 new babies soon!!! Wow that got way out of hand.

We wanted 4...but we figured we'd lose a couple to predators so we bought 8.

4 x 2 - y = 4 chickens.

Y is chickens lost to predators.

Y=0

So when is your next batch going to be? You can't really stop at 8, you are having suck good luck! Lol

4 buff orpingtons.... start
Hubby: go get 2 more=6
Barred rocks will look nice with the buffs =8
Trip to feed store for 'dog food ' =16

Fast forward to present day=3 separate flocks and a new huge walk in coop

Me+chicken math = many apologies to my sweet yet patient, and instigating husband

Ok ok I screwed up to, I haven't started the build a bigger coop yet but plans to add on to my diy (brand new) is in the works. Dang I don't think I can get past step one!!!
