The little town im in has tried turning us into a "city" we keep voting it down. The day they start with city ordinances will be the day i sell my property.

Just wondering, if you can have 11 of each, If you have 11 chickens could you also have 11 bantams? That might allow you to have a few more

I looked into that, the regulation specifies the rule applying to a genus, so all chickens fall into that. Same would apply to all types or quail, or all types of pheasants. Or all types of ostrich (wishful thinking on my part haha)

Yeah it's weird to me that the city right by me is so much more permissive, and I am bound by the county rules. I'm gonna get in touch with the local community authority to see if we can stretch the rules a bit. OR I could ask the city to annex my block lol.

I just asked the DH for $500.00... For A chicken. He said something along the lines of "dingaling", and " does it lay gold eggs?".... So chicken math, how many eggs/chickens am i going to have to sell to ever justify a months' worth of groceries for A chicken?

A chicken is worth what someone is willing to pay for them - there are a few different rare breeds out there that are able to demand this much and more, especially those that are well bred.

Exactly... I want an American Game...or 20 lol... Problem being they're "show" breeds and i just want a pretty chicken to free range... "They came highly recommended?" ...Haha no, maybe next year I'll try again

Ruu roe shaggy!! I ordered 6goslings from metzer. They should be here tomorrow. A good friend called this morning and said that his wife told him his two month old geese went OR SHE WAS. Asked me if I wanted them. Of course i said yes.DW heard me.. its only three more. I double checked this evening told him i would be by to get them thursday. He has SIX!!!DW is going to knock me in the head!!! Just got her used to the idea of 30 chicks (probably be 45) coming in july. I'm in soooooooo much trouble chiken math has spread to GEESE!!!AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGG!!!
