Chicken mites or fleas

I had noticed my chickens picking out their feathers and and checked them for mites and fleas. I dident see any signs but dusted them anyway with seven dust and cleaned their house. That was about a month ago. I just went to close their door and it was dark, i picked up a black feaher off the ground and looked at it with my flash light it had a bunch of white bugs on it so small i thought it was dust at first till a few startes to move. I looked up pictures of the fleas and mites and they are a brown and read colored. So just wanted to know what if this could still be fleas or mites. And any advice on what i can do to get ride of them would be appreciated.

Sounds like possibly lice. What you saw may have been eggs. You'll want to dust the birds with either Sevin dust or permethrin (permethri n is highly toxic to cats, so be aware of that) and then clean out their coop and dust that down too. Then repeat in ten days to kill the newly hatched lice that you won't have killed on the first go around.

I dont really use bedding in the house. We couldn't decide what to use. My mom built the house and was being really picky about the floor getting messed up. So we used large pieces of card board she gets from work. And we just pull it out and replace it.
Is the treatment for lice mites and fleas the same?

Well I'm not really sure about indoor chickens but for treating the coop it is

They have their own house lol. I just let them out and some of the little white things were craling on my arm then i looked at the green metal feence post and they were collected on that two. I couldn't get to the shower quick enough. They are so small and white you have to stare at them a while and just when you think ita dust it moves. Feel so bad for my chicks. I dont know were to start.

Not for mites, lice, ticks, or fleas that bother poultry.
