Chicken Mosh

Do chickens frequently dust in a communal pile, or are mine just weird? Once they find a suitable spot around the yard they all jump in. In the picture below, the pile continues below the rhododendron where all 15 were engaged in various stages of dusting.

Mine have a few holes that they all use to my dh's dismay. Mine are under my large quince bushes. LOL

Now I know what to call it when ours do that. A chicken mosh pit!

They are so fun to watch when they dust, crazy birds! And they make the most wonderfully happy cooing sounds until someone stands up and steps on everyone, then you hear a few loud squaks, then back to cooing.

I just love watching them in their group dust baths! Beats "Reality" TV anytime!

FYI...I throw a handful or two of D.E. in their dusting spots.
