I just finished reading through the entire thread and I must say how impressed I am with your self taught construction. It's fabulous. Doesn't it make you feel proud of yourself to complete such a wonderful project and using mostly recycled materials, not to mention a lot of free ones. Don't find many free building materials in my neck of the woods. Most people want something for it. As other byc members have said you need to build something else so we can all follow it. Thanks so much for sharing and giving us such a great experience.

Everything looks super awesome!!! I really love your run. My husband and I are getting ready to start building our run and I would love if you could give some pointers?? It is going to be 12' wide x 24' long' 9' high. My hubby was saying we should do panels in 8' sections so if we ever want to add on or have to fix anything it can easily be unscrewed and modified. We are going to use poultry netting over most but the bottom half in hardware cloth and we will cover the top as well so hawks and things aren't a problem. If you have any advice I would love to hear it. Thanks for posting such an awesome build!!

Oh and eventually the whole thing will be hardware cloth but for now with the costs it has to be half.

I have my run build with one roll of 1"x2" welded wire it comes in 100' roll and it is quite expensive about $260.00, but the good thing about it that it is really bullet proof against all kind of preditors (it is so tough that you need a cutter to cut it) I am sure that you guys are going to use 4x4 treated lumber for the posts ( that what I did use) the advise I can give you is : 1- use concrete when you set the posts and if you like to cover the roof, ( find a local metal sheets corigatet panels manifacturer and try to buy the pre ordered supply they had or what customers did not pick up that way you can save a lot of $$$$ I bought 40 sheets last year 7' tall for $250 compare that to $700 if I orderd them, the disatvantage of that is you can't pick the colors, and you might have to do some cutting and sawing when you install them, but it is still very good deal. 3- make sure that the door of the run is big enough for wheelborrow and such things.
