Chicken "mutt" club!!!

Pics
Here's my first post. Hope I'm doing it right!

This is Alpha. He's our BR cross roo (cross is unknown for sure. Either RSL, RIR or Speckled Sussex) who we hatched out here. I think he turned out quite handsome:

And a photo from the back:

Here's his sister, Ally:

Alpha has sired some offspring that I think turned out quite beautifully:

Photo below is Lovie. She's awesome :)

Different hen, still by Alpha:

This one and the one below are from the same clutch.

And here are our two roos by Alpha. We had three but gave one to the neighbor. I only have a baby photo of that one but he's gorgeous.

The white roo has golden barring.

Here's the only photo I have that includes the other roo:

If anyone in New Hampshire is looking for a rooster, the remaining two are free to a good home :)

I hope I did this right!

Oh! And just for fun, here's Lovie and the white roo when they were chickies with their broody, Essa:

Can you see both heads? Hehehe!

My eggs are dead

So I will not getting any mutt Araucana/BLRWyandottes anytime soon. I posted pics of the eggs on the broody thread and everyone said they were not going to hatch and looked like 7 day quitters. Right now my broody is not healthy enough to give her fresh eggs. So I am going to try and get her to go back to normal and healthy, the next time she goes broody i will let her try again.

Blue eggs laid by the ultimate mutts - Easter Eggers. This basket full was all laid in the last 3 or 4 days.. ITS SPRING!

The Mutt bantam rooster that started my joining BYC and my Silver Phoenix hen and my mother's Seabright? trying to steal back her eggs.

I am sorry your eggs didn't hatch. It is always disappointing when that happens. Here's

things to better next time.

I might be in the same boat as you in a few days. It has been so cold and the eggs have been very cold a few times. I just don't see how they could live after being so cold. Hatch date is Tuesday. I wish there was some place to get chicks near us.

Quote: WOW. Thanks pdx2phx!!!!!!! I always thought he was sort of circus-freakish..(not meant in a bad way)..but i love him, and he has the silkie temperament.
To me he carries himself like a white leghorn, same shape body, whatever....He is like a perfect blending, carrying traits of both....his earlobes are turquoise also....they look white here, but from the side you can see it. I will post more of him in a few days....Thanks again!!
I love unique chickens....he just looks so interesting with that comb! It almost looks sideways in the photo, is that how it actually is? It sort of reminds me of a fancy 1950's-60's guy's hair do like in Grease or something...

Does he have a name?
lol.png
Yes, his comb really is sideways! It is a straight comb like a leghorn, but only attached at the point where a silkie's comb would attach. Therefore, the part not attached flops over to the side.
His name is Winter. Glad you like him. I will get more pics of him soon. I keep forgetting my camera.

Pretty!!!! I did get pics of my easter baskets. One with boiled, and the other with eggs we blew out and sprayed with clear gloss spray paint.

This is our first Easter with naturally colored eggs!!!

My mom's pet mutt duck Eggi, she is mixed with Rouen, Indian runner, or possibly crested... Her sister has similar markings but a tiny little afro.
