Chicken "mutt" club!!!

Pics

My daughter calls him phoenix ... He is almost 6 months old and getting (or trying) to get his groove on with the ladies, behind him are a few of the 17 mutts we hatched out last fall that are almost 4 months and some of our older hens... Not sure what exactly he is other than EE, got him and four other eggs donated from a lady when we took her rooster, His nest mate is a White Silkie Cross

He's very pretty!

he probably will, you need not worry about having more then one rooster. we have 3 boys at the moment (the father and his 2 sons) and they get along fine as long as they understand who is in charge (their father) everything is peaceful. there is also plenty of lady's to go around.

Very pretty Roo's!!!! Love the last one!

And yes, right now they are trying to steal the older Roo's girls but its the girls beating them up :)

LOL, went out yesterday morn and the white silkie had blood down the front of him, checked him as well as he would allow, looks like someone got ahold of his waddle and gave him a good beating, he is fine today and still trying to sneak a girl, I always know because he gets yelled at quite a bit , the EE is a lot more subtle about it and just tries to do the dominate dance, but as soon as dad or one of the BA's shows up he runs
Hatched out 20 chicks in Sept and out of those 17 survived and I have 7 roo's...Not keeping any of them tho but they have all started crowing(or trying too) and when they started were only 3 months old...funny, the Dad roo leaves them alone, he wouldn't allow the silkie and EE to crow for along time, I saw him attack them if they tried.. They do now and its fine, but I wonder why he would allow the younger ones, perhaps he knows they are headed for the freezer and no threat?

i think he might know they are his kids so he is proud, Dennis (the father) would only allow his sons to crow, but no mating.

of these 9 chicks 1 was a girl

do you think i can send some eggs to you're incubator? :p we only allow hatching if it's under a broody, and it's to cold for anyone so we have to wait till march.
