My white EE some how ripped off her nail and now she’s limping. No blood. Looks pretty good actually. I saw it right away and soaked it in warm epsom salt for about 5 minutes. Is there anything I can put on it to protect it? I put a cream on it and it didn’t stay. Maybe a spray? Also, anything I can give her for pain? She’s limping and seems a tad lethargic. I feel so bad for her.

When I have had this happen, it stopped bleeding on it’s own. I only put some Betadine iodine on it. Vetericyn is also good to use. She limped for a week or so because it was very painful, but soon it healed without the nail growing back.

Pictures of her wound can be helpful in case it is worse than one I had. You could bring her into a dog crate on a towel or puppy pad for a day or two to keep it clean until it scabs.
