Chicken Names share their names here

Pics
Beijing, a female cream leg bar.

Emmy, a female silver laced Wyandotte.

Hay Hay, a female cream leg bar.

Hope, a female golden brahma (was really badly injured so we named her Hope).

Nonae, a female welsummer
(Her name is like no name, only without the m).

Poppy, a female cream leg bar (to know more about Poppy, go to Poppy's thread)

Private, a female cream leg bar.

So Poppy has her own thread? I think that's great! Private cause she hides or military private?

beautiful! I just love roosters! They are special creatures!
I didn't want a rooster and ended up with 2. I sadly lost them both. I think they had a bit of a scuffle in the heat and died of heat stroke. Nothing out of the ordinary till I found them both. No ones been sick or anything since.
Now I miss his crowing. And his keeping the girls in line. I swear it's a free for all now.

I'm sorry, he was a lovely boy I'm sure. I didn't want roosters either but somehow or another, got two as well!! They were suppose to be pullets but that wasn't the case. It takes some getting used to but they are a nice addition to the flock. Except the constant chasing of the girls, some run for their lives to get away from him. Poor girls lol they aren't used to him yet.

Well, mine are all named in my sig, but in case I change it... All my birds get named after they have acquired something significant either in their appearance or personality.

Ol' Red, my oldest at three+ years and still laying strong, is a Production Red.

Glinda, my all black chickens all get names of devils, demons, witches, sorcerers and so on (Glinda is the good witch of The South-Wizard of Oz) She's one of my friendlier hens, a Black Australorp.

Nut, pronounced Nuut, is named after the Egyptian goddess of the night sky. She's a Cuckoo Maran, but is so dark she looks flat black with white spots ("stars").

The last seven are all Easter Eggers.

Muffins, so named because even has a chick she had a very impressive set of ear muffs and beard.

Robin, with her prominent red breast.

Braveheart, When I got her from the feed store and lowered my hand into the brooder, all the other chicks skittered away except her. She ran right up and jumped into it! Ever since she has almost always been the first to try anything new.

Smokey, she is covered with mostly pale red and grey feathers which give her the appearance of smoke.

Strawberry Shortcake, All white with a few splashes of red (think: strawberries and whipped cream).

The twins: ObLaDi and ObLaDa. Until they were almost two months old I could not tell these two apart. Eventually they became somewhat different, ObLaDa's hackle got darker, but I still wanted to give them similar names. It was while "I [was building] their Home, Sweet Home..." That the Beatles song came on.

ObLaDa is my friendliest hen, She is always waiting at the gate to the run, squeezes her way through as I open it and squats at my feet until I reach down and pet her. Then she follows me around wherever I go.

I had alot off fun reading their names and stories behind them! All such unique names! Like FlyWheel , you sound as if even though it's a lot of work it's all a labor of love.

Please meet Bonnie & Clyde! They are Olive Eggers. They are both the sweetest chickens ever and are our favorite little outlaws...they definitely stoled our hearts!
