My leghorn hen is named chickadee! There's a Plymouth Rock hen named Mister Miester. Squiggles is a hen but idk what breed. My pair of rhode island reds were named Everett and Sandy but we had to give away Everett, oli and Hopps as their crowing upset the neighbors. There are also the three silkies, Venus/Klaus, Poppy and Milo, and a mean guinea named Fredrick!

From the sea to the stars seems to be an underlying theme ! So sorry you had to get your roosters out of the neighborhood.
Silkies were my first chice but when you think about it maybe not a good choice in the Desert

I have 2 BSL Robin and Goldilocks a dark Leghorn Re-re ( short for roadrunner aka RR) as she looks like one, a Brahma roo named Trixster cuz was supposed to be a girl and looked like one til 15 weeks, an Australorp named Cuckoo cuz she a bit quirky, dark Brahma sisters named Cocoa and Bright Eyes just to name a few of my chickens. Also have 13 ducks but that would go on and on...lol

Do you feel any recognize their names? I haven't tried with mine to accidentally teach them to come when called.

I think they recognize somewhat as they will look up at you when you say them. As far as coming when called, only my ducks do and it's all of them, although most of them recognize there names and talk back when you say them. My chickens usually come running when they see me come out but only because I'm the food bringer...lol

What awesome diverse collection of bird and names! Do you chose names by personality or whatever pops in your head? Does someone help you choose their names?

I looked up good chicken names for a few, but mostly I just used what the first name that popped into my head for that chick. Most are named after my friends. Lol!

It helps keep life less complicated when one also have to remember phone numbers, handles and email addresses

No chickens here, just guineas. I've always had fun naming them, especially since guineas are such quirky, funny birds.
I recently had to rehome them and miss them a lot. My favorites were:
Pearl gray hen named Pip (short for Pipsqueak)
2 matching pied Pearl grays named Peep and Repeep
2 lavenders named Thing 1 and Thing 2 (from Dr Suess, because they were crazy wild)
White male named Cracker

Nice photos! Henrietta is such a fitting name. OMGosh I hope I don't meat one in the near future because your hens pic will just pop into my head. Throw in @fat marans describe herself as a food dispenser...

I'll have a pez dispenser with your hens head jumping to the forefront of my thoughts. Hopefully I will be able to control my laughter. I would hate she (future human Henrietta,) to think I was a cruel crazy woman.
