We don't usually name ours but a few have been bestowed names for various reasons. The ones that always get me are the ones my kids come up with!
we currently have two Bantam Russian Orloff hens names Chica and Brownie (no clue why) but my all time favorite is the mixed breed hen we have my DD named Walks-a-lot.
She was given this name because (no kidding) she used to walk her to and from the bus stop every day!
I've heard of dogs doing that, but honestly never chickens! LOL She is now down in the barn and quite a distance from the daily bus walk but before we moved her down there she would jump her run fence daily to walk my DD down to the bus and then would go running to the end of the driveway to pick her up in the afternoon. She definitely earned the title Walks-A-Lot!
