Chicken Names To LOL At!

[Yay Chicks!]

Because we started calling the BO Buffy (couldn't help it), we decided on all vampire slayer names.

Buffy (the Vampire Slayer)

Willow (Buffy's best friend, who is a witch)

Anita (from the Anita Blake series of books)

Sookie (as in Stackhouse, from the TrueBlood series)

Rooster with the sad misfortune of being called Bonnie Lavender. He was supposed to be a she, we'll we never changed the name. SO the poor chap is still called bonnie... I remind him that bonnie means good in Scotland

A Delaware hen named Cannonball - because when she hatched, she launched out of the egg and into the opposite side of the incubator and laid there curled in a ball for about 30 mins.

The other Delaware hen is named Fattie because she was such a fat chick for the most part, the rest of my birds are theme named, Harry Potter, Greek and other Gods

I have a cochin named Charmin (looks like TP is stuck to her feet), a polish named Elmer (hen that was glued in the egg), a white leghorn named Speed Racer because she just never stops running and 7 pekins all named Ben Afflack.

My first 3 are red sex link hens and typical names of Molly,Milly,and Beatrice.

The 6 chickens we got from my dd's calss had names,but I could only tell the roo and runt so those stuck
Roo was Taffy.He died at 13 weeks
Runt was Stripe.

The rest we renamed as we watched them.
There are the dork sisters(was dork bothers).They have those facial side feathers that just make them look dorky.They were renamed Fluffy and Fuzz face.Later renamed again as Broken toe(one toe curved in) and Poopy face(she ate poo the longest).

There is Pluckers who used to run up to anyone sitting on a perch and pluck at their butt feathers.

Then finally No-name.We couldn't come up with anything for her.We tried jumper since she goes over the fence now,but no-name has stuck.

We were going to get another roo(but did not) and ds wanted Soda and I wanted Hammy so we agreed on Mr.Hammy Soda.If we move we will be getting our Hammy Soda.If we get 2 roos one will be Hammy and the other Soda.

I don’t actually name my chickens individually; however we do call the dominant Rooster “Mr. Studly”. I keep a flock of Mutts and save a rooster or two each year so I have an age progression of roosters, eventually Mr. Studly will pass on and the next rooster will begin to feather out and color up to assume the role of a new Mr. Studly. The older dominate Rooster seems to keep the younger ones in line and I assume he must be the one responsible for minimum tail feathers and dull sheen of the subservient Roos. I’ve also noticed and assume that the color, sheen, and spur size of the dominate rooster is the result of testosterone levels that develop when “He takes charge” of the chickenyard. I’ve only had a problem with multiple roosters the one time when I didn’t have an older one and they were all the same age/maturity----there were fights for dominance then. With an established Mr. Studly, there is control in the chickenyard.

we have the wierdest names, chirpity-chirp, fatso, goliath,(goliath is a hen) snickers, wuzzy, flip-flop, eyore, ping, pong, wiggles, guitar and genius.

I have a BO named Lizard, for no other reason than I thought it was funny. She has grown into the one chicken we all like to watch. She will run at any chicken - like she is going to tackle them for the football. She seems to be a couple of bricks short...if you know what I mean.
