Chicken Names- whats your chickens name?

oh ok my doc road island reds names are Goldie because when she was a baby she was actually the color of gold. next monster survivor burns because she was the only chick that survived the shipment and her first name monster cause when she slept with me she would wake up and tell me be pecking my eye and grabbing my lip with her beak.oww and then cotton, affro, jazzy, and sunflower

I just can't imagine sleeping with a chicken, what about Monster's poop at night?

I have a Matilda. My oldest hen and dedicated broody.
No Gertie yet but I also have a Speckle (similar to Speck)
Chicken names are so fun.

My rooster is Rooster Cogburn...yup a John Wayne fan I am..lol and my niece named another hen chic-oh-lay. Specks is short for speckles.

Autumnhearth: No, I don't have any breeders yet. I did see someone who had Dutch, but they were sold as straight run and we live where roosters aren't allowed. If you seard "dutch chicken breeders california", you might find something. I believe that's what I searched. If straight run are fine for you, then it probably won't be as hard for you to find a breeder.

Good luck! Bantams are usually sold unsexed. We will have to wait until we live out in the country and probably get some hatching eggs to put under a broody or buy a breeding pair or trio but that's at least a few years down the road. For now we are in a small college town with small lots. No ordinances against roosters or limits on how many chickens, just the same rules that apply to other animals, keeping noise and smell down and no running at large. We have 5 pullets now, may get a few more chicks in the spring. You can see their names and breeds below in my signature.

I used to have 3 others but they were different breeds and unfortunatly they passed

The other 4 were named by the kids I basically raised lol. Now I have chickens to raise

My cockerels are called Lovejoy and Tinker from a tv series about an antique dealer,

Tinker is the little pekin and Lovejoy the big brahma.
My hens are all named after female characters from Doctor Who!

Donna

Rose.

Clara.

Martha and Harriet.

And Amy.
I am hoping some of my chicks are female as I want some more hens, and there are plenty more female Doctor Who characters to name them after!
