Oh this makes so much more sense now that I see the chart, I was reading on my phone before. I love Akiko for the Black Tailed White, super cute name. I like the idea, meaning and look of Argentum and Aurum but calling them that might be a little tricky on the tongue. I like Holly and Opal too! But I like pretty much any flora, gem or spice name. Forel and Vogel are both fitting for a Dutch. We would really like a Fawn Silver Bantam one day. Do you have a breeder lined up? Of those breeds I've only seen the the Seabrights offered from hatcheries.

I'm still a new chicken mom, and chicken math got to me too. We have 10 ladies, now! Fannie and Maxi, barred rocks. Miss Ellie, americauna. Loki, Azul, Charlie, Buttercup and Pasty, Silkies. Mabel, buff orp. JoE, black australorp. Love them all!

My newest chicks. Asha, Mango and Tango, Marble and Bella.

"ASHA" I think a Columbian Wyandotte.

There are two of these ..."Mango and Tango" Unknown breed.

Left to Right ...Marble, Mango, Asha and Bella.

"Bella" in front is a white faced black spanish.

My goodness: I'll have to print this out. Thank you for such a detailed chicken name list.

I let my kids name them....most of them are named after disney princesses

Merida : Rhode Island Red
Ariel: Rhode Island Red
Rapunzel: Buff Orpington
Chicken nugget: Buff Orpington

Sven: Mallard Duck
Elsa: Mallard Duck

Anna II: Olive Egger
Elsa II: Easter Egger
Dot: Wyandotte

then we have these that still need names

2 black sex linked
1 Wyandotte
1 easter egger

I need to get my children to name the rest of them lol We had a couple of chicks the kids got from school (they hatched them at school) they were named Anna and elsa......my kids are for sure part of the frozen craze. lol and yes we currently have a duck and a chicken named Elsa

I have 4 that are 12-14 weeks old:

Ginger: Easter Egger
Mrs. Howell: White Leghorn
MaryAnn: SL Wyandotte
Tammy Wyandotte: SL Wyandotte

The Gilligan's Island theme is appearant to anyone over 40, maybe 50 :D

And, I'm a little bit country!

oh ok my doc road island reds names are Goldie because when she was a baby she was actually the color of gold. next monster survivor burns because she was the only chick that survived the shipment and her first name monster cause when she slept with me she would wake up and tell me be pecking my eye and grabbing my lip with her beak.oww and then cotton, affro, jazzy, and sunflower

Autumnhearth: No, I don't have any breeders yet. I did see someone who had Dutch, but they were sold as straight run and we live where roosters aren't allowed. If you seard "dutch chicken breeders california", you might find something. I believe that's what I searched. If straight run are fine for you, then it probably won't be as hard for you to find a breeder.

Cjpines: I have a tendency to go a bit overboard when naming my animals XD
My family also likes to give our pets detailed or meaningful names, so we've had cats named Molly and Desmond (from the Beatles song Ob-La-Di,Ob-La-Da), a little gray Russian Blue named Pinecone (looooong story :), a rabbit named Kenni B. (also a long story), and a guinea pig named Coconut (we had just gotten back from Hawaii when I got her, and when she burrowed under a blanket all we could see was her rear. My little brother said, "Hey, she looks like a coconut!"This comment received much laughter from the breeder as well as myself, as she went home with the name.

I'm glad you like the names!
