Yeah he was the best rooster. He would let us hold him and pet him daily. He died of a sudden death we just found him there. We think he had a heart attack but he was only 1 1/2 yrs old.
BYC said he couldn't have had heart attack because of his age. He died for some reason that we are not sure of. He only has 1 son (Copper Jr.) to pass on his generation.

When all your hens start laying you will get about 8 eggs a day.
We have 53 hens and only 35 are laying
That is why we have young ones to back the older ones up.

We have 3 Andalusians, 2 Silverlaced Wyandottes, 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte, 1 Australorp, 2 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Chocolate Orpington and we just added 1 Lavender Araucauna to our flock. So we have 11 chickens.
