Two of these are my grandparents' names, so I love them!

My maternal gma is Helen. My paternal gpa is Hazel.

As a matter of fact, all of my dad's aunts were flowers and months. All of his uncles were colors and gemstones.

I only name them when they become adults and show distinctive behaviors. I call little ones peeps or chickies.

So, far, my girls have sorority girl names like Ashley, Alexandra, and Tiffanii!! They soooo act the part!!!

This all started when a pig got totally sunburned and I started jokes about Spring Break.

The pig is no longer here, but my chickens are still sorority girls!!!

I name chickens with a sense of humor rather than after anyone I care about like my own family members.

I might give food names when I know the chicken is a cull, but for welcome flock members I like to do the poofy and silly names.
