There's nothing quite like a name that sticks when you DON'T want it to. Years ago one of our chicks got abandoned by his mother during a fox attack and earned the nickname "trauma chick" as result, lo and behold his father died and trauma chick turned out to be the oldest cockerel there to replace him. In a desperate attempt to not own a rooster named "Trauma" we tried coming up with other names for him but it had been completely ingrained and now we at least got it down to "Traum".

The name might actually be fitting because despite being half jersey giant and the size of a goose he is scared of absolutely everything not smaller than him and during a fox attack in his adulthood he abandoned HIS hens and hid somewhere else.

There's also a large dominant black hen with a blue leg-band who earned the title "Bluebitch", ill let you guess how she treats the other hens...

For example, they are all called Bickies, chicken biscuits, and little beans.
Junie also goes by June Bug, Juniper Jones, June Biscuit, Juniper Berry ...
Holly is also Holly Berry
Viola is also Vi-Vi
Beatrix is also BeeBee Girl
And so on and so forth.
I can’t be the only one who does this :lau.

All of my chickens have names.

I had Penny (RIR), Oreo (BR), and Peppa (BA), but they have passed away. Now I have Rocky (BA), Marble (BR), Maisie (RIR), Cheeks (EE), and Mango (Cochin bantam). My two cockerels are Bunny (EE (he was supposed to be a girl )) and Papaya (frizzled Cochin Bantam).

I have quite a long thread with names if people are looking for reference :p

My flock is Tillie (white leghorn), Ruth Bader Chicksburg (Ruth for short) Named for the white lacy collar around her neck.
Poppy, who stayed in the coop all day the first day we got her. I though Poppy was a good name for a shy chicken.
Round Chicken, who did not have a tail when we got her, so she was very circle shaped.
The last three are red sex links.

All mine have names, yeah. So far I have: Athena ( white leghorn ), Atlas ( barred rock ), Burt (BR/RIR ), Charlie ( black australorp ), Copper ( ISA Brown ), Daria ( black ameraucana), Delilah ( golden laced wyandotte ), Dot (a mutt ), Henny Penny ( ISA ), Henrietta ( ISA ), Maude ( black ameraucana ), Milly ( ISA ), Mimzy (WL), Miss Prissy (black australorp ), Moxie (GLW), Nelly (BR), Pepper (mutt), Pip (WL), Poe ( black australorp), Reeses (ISA), Rex ( cuckoo maran cross), Tilly (BSL), Turkey (mutt), Winnett (WL), & Yukon ( black australorp)

My girls are Little (smallest chick), Middle (middle sized), and Lark (who made the first cheep). My boy is Darl, and the girls are Darl's chickens. (Spoonerism on Charles Dickens, and a reference to a Monty Python skit.) Nick names are Little Bird, Middle Bird, and Lark Lady. I call Darl "Bucko" a lot.
