Chicken names...

I have 24 chicks, 23 girls and 1 roo

The roo is Sgt. Major Bok Bok. My husband was a marine so Sgt. Major cam from that and my MIL said when he was about 3 years old he would go to the neighbors yard and grab their chickens and scream "Bok Bok".

Girls, only a handful have names right now:

Tiny- My blind tiniest chick
Prissy- The name says it all
Sweet Cheeks- She has huge fluffy cheeks
Freckles- She looks like she has freckles
Bertha- She is the biggest chick, even at 2 days old
Dotty- Barred Rock, she has one tiny white dot near her beak

That's all I have so far.

My Marine DH named our pullets Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, all the way to Lima. I might change that as the girls get older and develop more of their own personalities.

I have seven extra RIR's, but the one that I think I will keep I named "Little Jerry Seinfeld". (I'm pretty sure Kramer's roo was an RIR. sigh.....I watch too much TV)

*We have a Black Silkie rooster named motorcycle (my son named him after his grandpa's motorcycle).

*We have a Light Brahma named madface (gentlest rooster, but always looks mad).

*We have a Gldn Laced Wyndt named limpleg (rescued from a farm where they thought it was fun to try to catch their chickens by the legs, hers disconnected so she walks with an intense limp, but is a happy hen now)!

*A Buff Orpington hen named Ducky (she sounds like a duck).

*A Partridge Rock hen named Peckbutt (she had her feathers and backend attacked and the feathers never grew back).

*An Auracana hen named Niarca (my oldest daughter named her that because she sounds like she's saying "biarc" and she's an Auracana and somehow you put those together and get Niarca)?.

* A Light Brahma hen named Big Mama (she is 3 years old and has hatched and raised 2 broods of babies freerange each year for 2 years in a row. Thats 2 hatchings in 1 year for 2 years straight. It was really sweet to see the bigger babies still with her in her nest sitting on the next batch. And bigger babies pecking around with their mama and their itty bitty baby siblings.)

These we believe actually know there names.
We have about 40-50 more chickens with various names that change frequently depending on our children that day.

I am new to this whole raising chickens thing. I moved to a rather large piece of land and frist thing I thought was getting some chickens- so here i am with 3 chickens ( to get started ) and I am loving watching them grow from little puffballs to very large and funny to watch chickens right now i have a buffy orpington ( i think ) named Peaches,a white cornish (i think ) we are calling KFC not sure yet if it is a hen or not,and a very tiny partridge cochin( i think ) I am calling itty bitty i dont think she will ever get big.
