Our flock is still young so as personalities emerge, names will be selected.

THe roos were the easiest to distinguish. Raptor--a very chicken agressive blk star; his brother that I hoped would be a hen, Henry (Henrietta, if needs be) and Whitey-- a spangled hamburg that started out mostly white, and now is mostly black!

A name that will get any body's attention is Bucephalus.(Bu-cef-a-las)

Our buff orpington got the name Orpington (in my head I think I'm going to call her Buffy), our EE/Americuana is Ang, our black cochin bantam (my fave) is Bamboo Jackson and our mystery chick ended up with the name Badass Honey Badger. >v<

Oh these are FABulous names!

I have two young chicks I just added to the flock, and they are not named yet. I love "Sushi" (just cuz it's silly) and Mae (for Mae West) because Mae West is one of my favorite saucy sassy women!

Mae West: "Ten men waiting for me at the door? Send one of them home, I'm tired."


Our first flock is as follows:


1 Easter Egger: "Tori" short for Cacciatori

1 Gold Wyandotte: Jackie (my son named her - short for jack-o'lantern because she has so much orange and Halloween is a big deal around here)

2 Silver Wyandottes: Stella (she has attitude) and Penny (for Henny Penny)

1 Silver Cuckoo Maran: Liza (she's quiet, but stands up to anybody with an attitude, so I'm betting she turns out to be the top hen)

2 Buff Orpingtons: Ginger and Lucy

I have a Buff Orpington named Dumplin', a Golden Lace Wyondott named Lacey, Henny Weasley is a RIR, and Hermione is an Araucana (I'm reading Harry Potter series) another Araucana is Fergie. I have not named the other 2 yet.

I have three New Hampshire Red pullets named Pheonix, Two-Bit and Blondie; three Barred Rock pullets named Delilah, Raven and Pipsqueak; five Black Sex Link roos (we're only keeping three; the other two I'm raising for friends' freezers) named Jaspar, Bullhead and Dale. I also have 11 Golden Comets of which we only named three, so far: Angel, April and Sadie. I love them all but "Pip" is my favorite! She's already a lap bird at six weeks!

I have 2 RIR, one who was Olivia and had to be renamed Oliver, and Lucy
My 17 year old daughter named her white silkie Sophia, her splash silkie is Rose.
Our easter eggers are named Original ( cream color) and Extra Crispy ( dark brown)- courtesy of my husband
Two New Jersey Giants- named Debbie ( after my friend at work from NJ) and Snookie
Two buff orpingtons- JayZ and Tony Hawk( 8 year old stepson named those,lol)
Then when we got our new chicks last week ( two production reds and two comets) my girls named them Dorothy and Blanche ( the rest of the golden girls), Princess Nugget and Chick Fil A.
I love, love , love naming chickens. It is almost as fun as guessing the names of the paint colors at Lowe's!

Mine are:
Australorps - Whoopi & Oprah
Buff Orpingtons - Helen (after my Mom, she follows me and talks my ear off), Connie, Dumpling & Skunkbutt (was my pasty butt chick)
Barred Rocks - Tyson (after Mike, she has attitude) & Roxy (feminine version of Rocky, cuz she has attitude too)
SLW's - Sylvia & Quasimodo
RIR's - Ruby & Rose
EE - Sadie

I have three more coming up, not sure of gender yet. These are not named until their personalities emerge. They are EE's, one is a super dark chipmunk color the DH swears is a roo. He wants to name that one camo.

Our rabbits are Sampson & Delilah.
