I went out this morning and found a chicken with what I thought was a broken neck. Her head was laying at an odd angle and she couldn’t move it. She passed as I was checking on her. She was about a one year old bird. Clean rear end. No visible injuries. When I opened her up there was a ruptured yolk but no stuck eggs. Her intestines are pictured. I’ve never seen them white like this. Any ideas of what it could be? Liver looked good.

I attached more pictures. I believe it is the reproductive system.
Yes, it does look like the reproductive.

You mention there was a ruptured yolk, where was that located - inside the abdomen (coelomic cavity) or?

Still hard to know what happened. There's quite a bit of fat surrounding the intestines. Looks like a generous fat pad has been removed.
What did her liver look like?

Below is a fairly good photo with labeling. There are more necropsy photos with labels on the site as well, I've linked it under the photo.

I don't see any signs of tumors or cancer. Lots of fat. If the liver is in the upper right of the last two pictures, it doesn't look completely normal to me. It's not terrible, but the color and texture looks just a bit off to me. But maybe that happened during the process of necropsy. If not then could be fatty liver.
Depending on where the yolk was, could be a clue, or could be normal?
