WOW !!!! That is exactly what I need. Thank you. You must be local. I need to get my chicken checked and get a tag for chicken do you know where I can get her checked. My local vet is domestic animals only. You are a life saver.

And you did take its little paw print on the day it was born, to make sure that your baby chick wasn't mixed up with any others in the breeder's brooder, right?

Local only in the sense that I'm in Florida, but the more northern half.

Call the fair people. There's a person in charge of the animal exhibits. Likely one specifically in charge of the poultry. Ask him if they'll be doing testing at the fair site itself which most shows usually do. It's usually a nominal charge. Be a lot less than a vet visit. Talk to the folks and many, many questions will be answered for you.
