Good morning everyone! Another newbie here, coming to you from NW Georgia.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, we are new to raising layer chicks. We got our first chicks about 5 weeks ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 16 baby chicks right now.
(3) What breeds do you have?
we have 8 Black Sex Links and 8 Americana
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I am still learning, just watching these babies grow has been fun.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to garden, vegetable and flower. If I can be outside, I am in my happy place.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have only been in our current home for about 9 months, hopefully our forever home! We have six acres and are excited to have a mini farm one day. Starting with our baby chicks. We have 5 kids, all grown and on their own. Our furbaby, Roxie, is a mini Australian shepherd. To say she is spoiled is an understatement.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I’m not really sure how I came across BYC. I’m going to say it probably came up in a Pinterest or Google search. It seems like a very knowledgeable that’s here, hence the reason I am here. To gain more knowledge about raising my chicks.
