Chicken nipples, cups and FROZEN pvc pipes - HELP!

I can see it now that I'm on my pc, but for the life of me couldn't see a signature on my tablet.

Can the heater rest on the bottom of the bucket?

It sure can.

Mine has worked perfectly since late last October. Kept the water thawed (and luke warm) all winter!

Well worth the investment of $20 total, and a lot cheaper than the store bought ones that may/may not work.

Thank you so much. I bought a regular plastic chicken waterer but found it It was cracked near the handle and won't hold water. I have horizontal chicken nipple waterers coming off ebay but until then can I use the idea of your bucket feeder but put water in there instead? Will they drink water through the pvc elbow until my horizontal nipples arrive?

Never thought of it......... But yes maybe..... If they can get to the water.

If you haven't made it already you could just make the hole in the bucket and not insert the pvc elbow. Put water in the bucket up to the hole line and I bet they would drink from that.

Do I need one or two of the nipples on my bucket for 11 guineas? And will they know how to use it?

The key thing is to remove ALL OTHER WATER SOURCES..... then they will learn how to use it. You might want to show one of them and then the rest will catch on.

If you can do more than 2 nipples that would be good as well, but 2 nipples might be fine. I have 8 chickens on 1 nipple and we don't have any issues.

Ok. I have two nipples on the bucket...and it's in the coop now. *whew* They all seemed to flock around it to get a look and a couple pecked at the bucket but not the nipple itself. But they have no other water source. (oh..and I have guineas...that doesn't make a difference does it?)

I Googled "guineas" because I didn't know what one was. Are they Turkeys? Sort of look like it on Google Images.

Anyway, the nipples should be fine. The look as if they drink just like Chickens do.

They're an African pheasant and they are probably the stupidest creatures on the farm. And the noisiest. But they are interesting.
I looked into raising guneas....then I watched a video and heard the excessive noise they make and learned that they love to travel. I ended my research at that point. No guneas on our farm. My husband would kill me. LOL

They are also suicidal.
