Chicken nipples in soda bottle?

I just installed this and they are all poking at it. It does drip more water after they drink. Is that normal? It'll be messy or too wet in there if this keeps happening. Any ideas? Is it normal?

it may be the angle. The ball in the nipple keeps the water from flowing, so perhaps the shift knocks the ball off center?
