After cooking up all of the birds we processed I have had lots of litle slivers of chicken, a whole lot of broth and the need to put a meal on the table even though I had been cooking all day for a few days.

I took some of the broth from my roaster and some of the slivers of chicken meat added in some chopped onion, celery, carrots and asparagus tips. Once the vegetables were tender I added in a couple handfuls of egg noodles and simmered for about 10 minutes.

I served big steaming bowls of soup for our meal.

Along side a wonderful chicken salad sandwich made with my own homemade mayonnaise, my little pullet eggs and our chickens.

Our own chickens have provided us with a multitude of really good, fresh, homemade items.

Does it get any better than this?

You really need to start penning your own cookbook, with pictures.
    I'm drooling on my laptop.

Now I want to go pull out my hand crank pasta maker.
Trouble is I have no chicken. Oh wait, "Where are ya Roo?"
    "I've got something for ya"

    "Who Me?"

Can I come live with you? Will you show me how to cook like that? [IMG]

i can't believe the wealth of recipes and creativity you have - not to mention the stamina! if you learned from your mamma, you do her proud. tonight we are having meatloaf and beans - no picture.
  5. [IMG] It's hard to beat a bowl of homemade chicken soup
and homemade chicken salad --- all made with home grown chicken and eggs!
I have to say, I'd have made a 'quickie roux' and thickened up the soup.
    Gosh, it looks tasty!
