Hi, last weekend I had to separate an injured chicken from the rest of the flock and put her in an outdoor dog kennel alongside the outside of the run. she is a lavender americana and hasn’t laid an egg yet, all the chickens are seven months old. she laid two eggs, two days in a row while she was alone. We finally put her back after a week of being separated and they all got along great! but it’s been 4 days since we put them all back together and she hasn’t laid an egg since then :(
could it be that she felt safer while she was alone? What accommodations can I make to help her start laying eggs again? if you need more info let me know !

That's a pretty stressful place to be.
after a week of her healing, we swapped her with the lead chicken because she was the one pecking at her making her bleed and she was in there for 24 hours. Do you have any other suggestions?

Tell us more about your flock.
-your flock size(numbers, ages, genders),
-your coop(size in feet by feet with pics),
-and what and how exactly you are feeding,
These might offer clues to if there is a solvable problem

hi! our chickens are seven months old and were all raised together. we bought them at five months old from A coworker‘s daughter who raises chickens.

Welsummer
buff Orpington
lavender americana (was injured by pecking)
barnvelder
Cinnamon queen (leader)
black australorp
Red jungle fowl

the coop is 6x6x7’high and the run is Run is 18’x6.

we feed them a mix of layer feed, grain, black sunflower seeds and corn.
everyday we either give them lettuce, apples, oats, mealworms, corn on the cob, watermelon, strawberries or scraps ! they all get plenty.

please ignore the kennel and crate lol that was for the lavender americana when she was injured!
we believe all the chickens are laying eggs except for her

Maybe too much!
Layer feed is meant to be the sole ration for actively laying birds.
All that other stuff maybe diluting the already minimal nutrition in the layer feed.
But if your other birds are laying<shrugs>

The Americana who isn't laying is stressed from injury and now reintegration.
I'll assume you are in the northern hemisphere,
so she maybe starting a break due to shorter days.
Am's are not stellar layers to begin with.
So all you can do is wait.
