Chicken on my mind

Whats happening to me!? I'm thinking about chickens ALL of the time! I must bore people to death-not you people, but regular people. For example, the other day I was at a department store looking for a bra. ( sorry guys). Another woman and I had a conversation about how hard it is to find the right one, how we usually fall back on the wrong size etc. Somehow, I used that as a segway into something about chickens. ***? There has got to be something wrong with me.:/ Any help for me?

Buy more chickens !!

I'm with you! Once I start talking about my chickens it is hard to stop! People just don't know how awesome these birds are!!!

Got home at lunch time from a meeting with a client, brought lunch home for hubby and kids, brought it in and said I'm just going to check the chooks, it's stupid hot today so I wanted to make sure they had enough water and were coping as I lost a girl to heatstroke last week. Hubby gets a bit irate saying he doesn't know anyone who cares more about a chook than their kids! Not true of course I love my kids, but the chooks don't argue with me :)
You are not alone :)

I call my flock "the girls" or "babies" and other affectionate names and my MIL thinks I'm nuts.

My husband just shakes his head at me. The other day I said I was so proud of my guys for going out and braving the cold. He said I'd lost my flippin' mind. He doesn't believe me when I say Tuffy stands and waits for me to pick her up. What's wrong with him?

I have to join this conversation. I live in a smallish town and a lot of people have backyard flocks, but they don't seem to share my insanity for them. Once I start talking about them I can't stop. My husband does the same thing, shaking his head at me. I can't help it my birds are awesome! I really don't understand why people don't feel the same way.

Thank goodness for this site so we have other chicken people to talk to. I don't know anyone at all to talk to around here that cares but that doesn't stop me from trying. How many do you have? I have about 50 including at least 20 breeds. I love each and every one of them. Most have names.

I have a girl that also wants to be picked up and will follow me until I do. She loves for me to hold and rub her and will sit in my lap until I put her down. I only have 6 hens, but if I lived where I could have more, I would.
