Chicken penicillin dosage

I have 8-9 year old hen that is very raspy- can hear gurgle- so spot to a vet who wouldn’t see her but told me if a penicillin that I could use for her. So for a week straight every morning she received 1cc. She cleared up just a little. Now what??
You might want to start your own new thread, and include as much info as possible. Have you checked the crop to see if it is emptying overnight, since crop disorders may cause gurgling. But you may have a respiratory disease, and penicillin will not treat those. Do you see bubbles, foam, or pus in an eye? Is there any swollen eyelid or nasal drainage?

I ordered some Pro-Pen-G Penicillin the other day and wanted to know what dosage I should give an 8 pound hen. The bottle says 1 mL per 100 pounds body weight--this is roughly 1/10 a millileter for an 8 pound chicken. Does this dosage sound correct?

Also, for how long should I give it to her?

Thanks for any advice you can give!
.2 ml is what I use with my hens.
