Wonderful! Sad news since I've been on here: T.Roo is going to freezer camp. Not only was he ripping the hens up (combs bleeding into the nostrils, feathers ripped out, neck injuries, the like...), but he blew it one day by running into the enclosure and attacking my leg. Looks like he's going to be Christmas dinner after all!

Great- fully recovered and is my only blue layer!!!

Bummer on T. Roo, he's very handsome.

I'm so thankful she's doing better.....and also laying beautiful eggs!

I know, he WAS incredibly attractive. It's a little sad that we have to do away with him, but we've gotta do what we've gotta do. So strange that he turned on me without warning. What else can you expect out of a rooster?

I know, he WAS incredibly attractive. It's a little sad that we have to do away with him, but we've gotta do what we've gotta do. So strange that he turned on me without warning. What else can you expect out of a rooster? :/

Well, he had always "fake tibitted" whenever I talked to him. Maybe I should have taken that as a sign. And the only time he ever wingdanced at me was LONG before the attack, and I made sure he never tried it again.

We had intended to make T.Roo into soup, and the first evening he began to simmer, he tasted incredible. Fast forward all night, and there were hunks of undigested feed, grit, and corn floating around in the broth, bringing everyone to the conclusion that my mom had forgotten to remove the crop.

Needless to say, since everything in the stock pot was permeated with the flavor of molasses, we won't be eating THAT anytime soon! Or, HEY.......I could always give it to YOU to relish!!!!!!

You know you want some, Bubbles......
