Yes, I did... Isn't she sweet??

Her name is Roxy, she weighs 28 grams, she is SO tiny!

LOL! I only got RSL and Silkie, (instead of leghorn, marans, polish, OEGB, D'uccle, & BO like I wanted) because TSC was out of all the others.


That and I have 11 viable eggs in the bator on day 13, so I probably shouldn't have gotten any at all...

But I was gonna burst if I had to wait any longer for chicks!

Chicks! I'm getting my hatching eggs sometime next week and I'm so excited to try to hatch out some of my "Wish List" breeds this year. This is my tiny powerhouse, Sparta. She's the smallest chicken I have and is the only one that bosses the peacock around. Odysseus and Ava'Dara actually being really chill with each other for a change! Odysseus is a bit of a tiny tyrant and Ava'Dara doesn't care to be bossed around by a dude. ca-CAW! (not a chicken, sorry - I just liked this one) Mercury and Memnoch are definitely my "babies" of my flock because they were the first two chicks I've ever hatched. About a month into being out of the brooder last year and into the main pen, my brother's dog tried to kill Mercury. Since then, she has been very flighty and didn't like being handled. She's made a lot of progress over the winter. When he walks around like this, I call him Teddy Broservelt.

Hey, I don't blame you! When we were waiting last March for our order of 16 to arrive, we went out to Rural King for bedding and feed.....and came back with 6 EE chicks to appease us in the meantime.

Hey, I don't blame you! When we were waiting last March for our order of 16 to arrive, we went out to Rural King for bedding and feed.....and came back with 6 EE chicks to appease us in the meantime.

I am just so anxious waiting for these lil guys to hatch... After fixing some things that went VERY wrong with my last try, it is going so much better. As of last Monday, all but one of the eggs I set (12) were viable and looking great. I even saw a few of the embryos move!

Candle day is this Saturday, so for healthy looking babies in there.
