Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. I am putting the chickens to work and they love it. I made a giant playpen added finished compost and old maple leaves. I put a cover that gives them diffused shade, protects them from hawks and keeps them from free ranging which could end in disaster.
