I tried that but it didn’t seem to help much. I also soaked the bird with the water hose before scalding. The plucker got a few of the body feathers but no wing or tail feathers. I also had to hard pluck all the pin feathers. I might try the wax method next time for those. If the skin wasn’t so good I’d just skin them.I read with Ducks putting a little dawn dish-washing liquid in the scalding pot makes them pluck easier. Cuts through the natural waterproofing.
