Well, I moved the waterer up a couple of inches (on top of an overturned short pot) b/c I was emptying it out constantly o f dirt/debris. Now that it's higher, one stands on top of it and poops right in the water. How do I stop her from getting up there? I can't hang it b/c the handle broke and glue didn't work. No debris, just feces. Guess my change was sort of effective. It's a galvanized 2-gal.

I haven't figured that one out yet either! LOL! The darn things keep sitting on top of my waterer and doing the exact same thing.

The only thing that I've figured out to do is to change the water frequently until I can get the babies in the bigger coop where the waterer is hung.

WELCOME TO BYC!!!

You could get some small chain from the hardware store and link it together to make sort of a macrame holder like they used to make in home economics class in high school.

Glue a wire mesh brillo pad around the top of the waterer. They dont like the feel of it on their feet, and will hop off. Not very pretty, but effective....
