You can also get a horse stall fork and zip tie hardware cloth over the top. Works just great! I'll try to remember to get a pic of mine.

Hey, Sorry but I really don't understand the whole "scooping poop" idea. If the run has sand and dirt and they poop, why not just let it dissapear into the soil. It will. Why scoop it? The chickens scratch and turn it over, the rain comes and breaks it down. Just trying to follow the whole idea of keepig up with chicken poop in the run. Fill me in. Have 38 chickens in 580 sq. ft. run and will not .....have not ...needed to scoop poop. Just my opinion.

i collect it to fertilize the garden. plus it seems to be the more sanitary thing to do to prevent worms, etc.
