I hear you..

It takes me about 1 hour 30 minute to box up 12 eggs the way we box.....(See my BYC page for details) We shipped out 160 eggs today and I have more to do tonight!!! Grateful for the sales...Might be meeting the feed bill!

So if anyone needs eggs, I'll make a deal! Nancy

Same, here! I'm trying to figure out an easier way to box them..not to make them less secure, but something that is secure that takes less time! lol
I really want some of your Easter Egger eggs that have the Lavender Ameraucana roo with them!!

I just reposted an auction of them but you can buy outside the auction, if you like, just pm me!! Thanks!!!

YAY! So then by my calculations -counts on fingers- they should hatch in early April? Pretty little Blue Orps in springtime!

Hooray for you! Your brooder will be full of adorable puffballs!

Hello fellow addicts!

I have exciting news!

My broody hen hatched an egg last night! Today is day 21 for the eggs which were set on Feb. 22nd! I have not seen the chick yet, but 1/2 of an eggshell had been kicked out of the nest! The eggshell color (olive) tells me that my wheaten-colored EE 'Blondie' was the mama, but the egg was laid in a transition period, right after my White EE 'Whitey' left (he was rehomed for excessive standing on the hens). Hopefully the chick will be a "pure" EE lol

The chick should be a White or light colored EE! This is the first chick that has hatched from my own eggs!

I had to go to work today, and I did not want mama and her babies to be disturbed, so I padlocked the door of the henhouse!

I think a mama hen with baby chicks following her around is the cutest thing ever! I promise to take pictures as she progresses!

My bantam OEG hen must have gotten forcibly evicted from her clutch of eggs last night or this morning, because an egg had been laid with her clutch that was not in there yesterday! (a large green egg in with 8 bantam eggs kinda sticks out!) Her eggs were unattended and she had settled on 2 ping-pong balls and 3 plastic eggs in another nest box.

I have been using the plastic eggs to encourage broodiness, I guess it back-fired! After I put her eggs back under her, I took all of the plastic eggs away and left a ping-pong ball in the remaining open nest to show the laying hen where to lay! I guess 4 broody hens is enough!!!!!

I am addicted to stalking the Crazy 24 hour Auction thread. If I had a big incubator I would be in soooooo much trouble. There are amazing deals on there.

Congrats to IdealisticRoo and the broody hatch!

I must confess!! I am totally adicted to chickens! It all started with one, rehomed, in need of rescue, hen who is to blame! SO I ordered 25 chicks that arrived 5 weeks ago. Well, I must have an addiction problem because I just couldn't help myself while at the feed store today. . . please keep my secret . . . I ordered more chicks! I really love the golden look of the BO so I ordered 4 and my rescue is an EE so I ordered 10 (just in case a few are roos) My DH is gonna have a bird!!!
