Well......

Our first experience with chickens was 5 years ago. We got some Rhode Island Red hens from some of our friends. Some coyotes got all of them. After that I lost interest in chickens. "They where just for eating" I thought. Then we moved to South Dakota. We bought some Bantam chicks from a feed store. We raised them so we could eat they're meat... but we just couldn't kill them after we had just raised them. They became our pets. All of the chickens exept one died from various reasons. One got trampled by our horse, the other drowned in the stock tank. After that I thought chickens where "just for eating". I finally got another one.. A Barred Rock named Serena. She is still my favorite chicken. After that I kept getting more and more chickens until I was overrun with them! I have 20 of them...

Sounds like you got it alright, but I will be the one to break the news[which you have already guessed anyway] there is no known cure.

we just all have to be here to help each other and to be supportive and we will be. I will be the first to say now that you have 20 chickens you need some ducks and maybe a goose. some one else will tell you you need goats and turkeys and guineas, but it's for your own good that we tell you these things.

So we welcome you to PAA

For one thing he hasn't eaten a meal in about 3 days...I but ya he comes back up to the yard looking for another pea-snack. Hopefully, he'll get his rear-end caught in the trap and in the morning..he will be history. Or...I could cook him and feed him back to the girls for a sweet revenge! *inset evil laugh*

He keeps coming up here 'cause the animals are fat and easy to catch, there is water out, and there is nothing to eat out in the pasture...

Last year I had to coyotes that would come up to the barn WHILE I WAS FEEDING and would be waiting for me to let out my chickens!

Wait a sec, don't you have dogs?

Yes, 4.

Two inside, and two outside.
