Oh, I'm just getting ready for dinner (It's 5:30pm here)

ETA: What about you?

Do you know I've been wondering for a while what ETA stood for! And the meaning?

I'm on BYC trying to best test the debate to wash or not wash your hatching eggs. What do you all think?

Ba ha ha...this entire time I've been writing it out. Clearly makes sense. Thanks.

So, did ya'll see the eclipse? We had an overcast sky. Couldn't see a thing.

Bummer. At least I can tell my hypothetical grandkids that I was alive when it happened, even if I didn't witness it.

Nope. I set my alarm because I was far too tired to stay up for it, and my alarm (set for 1:45am) didn't go off until 3:10am!

So, I missed the whole thing

But, I agree, at least I lived through this one

Eclipse, I set an alarm for midnight, woke up a few minutes before midnight. Grudgingly got up, put on robe, went outside (Brrr) looked at sky, saw quarter moon where previously (earlier last night) there was a full moon, went back inside, and crawled back into bed, satisfied that I had seen the eclipse.

Chickens are MUCH more interesting than lunar events.

I go into lockdown today with the 2 (out of 62) that I set on the 3rd and 4th. With what these 2 have been through, I am convinced that they can survive ANYTHING and that they are probably roos. I read somewhere that female embryos are more fragile, so if you want mostly roos (?) turn up the temp!

Oh, well, at least some are hatching, not sure how the New Years Hatch will turn out, I only set 12 E.E. eggs, and my Jan 5 hatch has 1 fertile LF Araucana (out of 12), 8 bantam Araucana (9 set), 9 FBCM (the 10th one broke, no idea how many are fertile, but the one that broke sure was!), and 8 E.E. x polish that are all fertile!

I just ordered a dozen golden Phoenix eggs from another BYCer and a dozen mystery eggs from the same seller, these will go in after Christmas with the dozen Silkie/ serama mixes that I purchased one night on ebay when I was NOT in my right mind!

Oh, well think happy hatch vibes and make it a great day!
