Thanks Cass! I'll do my best to remember! What else do you know???
Seriously.
About seeds and outdoor planting? A lot. About chickens. Just about nothing. About houseplants. NOTHING and I mean I have a black thumb for indoor plants. What do you need to know?
Warm water for watering seedlings is best.
To get morning glories to flower the first year you need to start the plants indoors....they will reseed themselves outdoors once you get them going in the place you want them. You'll actually have too many plants in that location the third year....and find yourself pulling them out by the roots. Remember that when you select a locatoin for your morning glories.
Oh, I know what you might like to know...there is a morning glory type flower called a Moon Flower...that the flowers OPEN in the afternoon just about the time morning glory flowers close. Plant both in the same area and you will have flowers all day.
Small seeds are best watered with a spray bottle...doesn't knock the seedlings over. (like basil, oragano, ground cherries)
I have been gardening to feed my family since I was 3 years old....or so my parents say, cuz I was the oldest so I was taught young...I can grow just about anything outdoors....however this year the weather has been ripe for insects and my poor garden is dieing early.
I just started gardening 4 summers ago. I am eating up all information that I can, and even joined our Gardening club!
I have killed almost every single house plant I own. As soon as I brought some outside, by the grace of Mother Nature they have sprung back to life! One Dracena was so bad, I actually put it outside to "deal with later"...it had no leaves, the limbs were all wilty and gross. Thanks to my procrastinating tendencies and forgetting about it, each branch sprang forth new leaves! Too bad I have to bring it back inside next month!
I'm on a google search for Moon Flower seeds, thank you! I say this every year...I will start seeds early and plant earlier. We didn't get most of our garden in until July.
