I have never heard my chickens make this noise before, I googled it and found it sounds like purring but it's lower pitched than the videos I've seen, she isn't lethargic or showing any other signs, she seems perfectly happy, she was preening with the other 2 about 5 minutes before I took the video, im just wanting to be sure it's nothing else, also sorry it's so quiet please turn volume up, thank you

I can't see the video. What was she doing when she was purring? If a bird sees a hawk in the sky, they will look up, freeze and make a purring sound to alert the others that danger is near by.

She was just laying down, also just free roaming and just got done preening and took a break
Edit: maybe you can see it here

She may have saw something in the sky. However I have heard others talk of their chickens purring, maybe its a thing? :D

Hens can purr to mean complete contentment 🥰🥰 which may mean she is just so happy and she wants you to know. Especially if you were near and she started purring to you.

Mine seem to purr when they have finished their treats and start sitting next to me or on me. They get cuddly and content. They growl when wild birds get too close.
