HI this thread is basically for all the questions I have and other people may ask questions on here too...

So here are my questions...

1. If you breed a silkie that is fully feathered to a showgirl chicken... Are they're offspring just a weird mixed breed looking chicken or will they're babies be 50% fully feathered and 50% showgirl?

2. Are young roosters the only one's who have little bumps where they're spurs are going to be or do hens have the same little bump but it doesn't grow into a spur?

P.S. I will post again here if I have any more questions...

Thanks :)

I haven't a clue about showgirls, I find them creepy.

Both males and females can develop spurs. I have had hens with spurs and roosters with no spurs. I have not looked at young birds and their spur development to see if they all have bumps or not.

I have looked at all my young chickens that I think are hens and they have bumps on they're feet so that left me confused:idunno
Thank you ! You helped me greatly:)

There are two types of showgirls, a stripper and a bow tie. If you breed a bow tie to a silkie you will get a mix of silkies and bow tie showgirls. If you breed a stripper To a silkie you will get 100% bow tie showgirls.

As for the spurs, all my babies get a little bump so you can’t use the bump to sex them when they are little.
Thank you! Do you know exactly how many persent of showgirls you will get if you breed a bow tie to a silkie?
