Chicken questions...

Also he has a single comb in stead of a pea comb... Does that mean he is not a pure bred silkie? And is there any difference if you breed a frizzled sizzle to a straight feather silkie or if you breed a sizzle to a straight feather silkie? sorry I just have so many questions :)

Silkies and showgirls actually are suppose to have a walnut comb. Having a single comb does not mean they are not pure bred. Sometimes they just pop up or come from not so selective breeding. If you sizzle which I do believe is smother feathers with frizzle, you’ll get some smooth, some silkie and some of both with frizzle, provided the sizzle carries a copy of the silkied gene, which they usually do. If it’s a frizzle silkie bred to a silkie, then you get some frizzle and some Silkie. I think the percentage on that is 50/50 on that.

Ok... I am kind confused about the frizzle's... if I am not mistaken then a sizzle is a frizzle cochin and silkie mix and a frizzled silkie is basically a normal silkie with silkie feathers but they are curled back. What do you call a Silkie and frizzled cochin mix bred 2x with a silkie?

Yes I breed silkies and showgirls. I breed to the SOP except for the colors. I like playing around and getting unique cool colors. Plus it’s so hard to keep 6 different pens to keep colors separated. I really enjoy them and am working on making my flock hardier. I have a lot of happy customers and feel we have made huge leaps and bounds with the quality of our birds this year. Below is just a select few of what I am breeding for.
