As long as I don't have to do satin stitch around them I think I will join. My machine does not do a good satin stitch but it does do several decorative stitches. I thought all the raw edges needed to be completely covered for this swap. But if it can just be decorative, I'm in.

Well, I bought an embroidery hoop and floss today. I can applique during the 6 hours a week I spend in the waiting rooms for Evan's appointment. Since I have 3 months, i'll sign up for a second set.
