Oh, duh! I just read the instructions that said to reverse the template to look like the picture. Okay - shouldn't that be built in? Or should a high school graduate be able to read directions?
SEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! Now you know why I don't do any of that fancy "peice work" stuff!! You gotta read the directions! With applique, most times you can just wing it!!
I know where it is cold and there is snow, the fellas retire to the garage to restore an old car and the ladies quilt. Here in the south, I'm outside until dark and then come in to watch TV with my DH. Well! It's racing season, girls, so NASCAR is having practice runs and that is all that is on the set tonight. Guess I'll be working my quilt squares. I've been tracing forever and I would really have loved just stretching out on the sofa.
Tomorrow is my grandma day and DH will be glued to the TV then also. DGD and I will clean out the coop, visit with horses next door and just have a lovely day w/o DGP (aka DH). Racing season has just begun.
That's one "sport" I don't get into even though I'm in the heart of NASCAR country. My neighbor even has a stock car that he races at a local track. For 2weeks in May and October you don't go out much because of all the traffic from people going to Lowe's Speedway. They even take up all the space in the restaraunts out here! Good thing is it puts a lot of cash in the economy here. NASCA Hall of Fame will open in the spring. I think during "Speed Week"
Here we follow college sports. Doesn't really matter the sport, baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, guys or girls. They haven't outgrown their britches like the pros have and still play the game for fun!
My second husband liked Nascar, all I know is that the M&M car was number 36, and he thought buying M&M's was "supporting his team"
, so I made M&M cookies for games.
I married a videogame husband the third time, videogames have no season, but they do have a pause button, and better he's home at nights instead of being at bars, clubs, or other places husbands get "in trouble" at. Works for us.
Today, it is sunny and bright, but cold. The wind is sustained at about 10-12 mph and gusts up to 25 mph (per DH), so I'm inside working quilt blocks. It's cozy in the laundry room with the dryer going and me over the ironing board affixing feet, wattles and combs. Since wings are pairs, I've got to be sure to have enough fabric for a whole chicken that is one color!
Babymakes6, a knowlegeable friend told me to put that star in the position the pattern maker designed it. It's out of balance if I do it my way. Which, by the way, is just me being contrary.
