I’ll checkHow close is the 2x4 to the wall? Maybe it's the angle of the photos but it looks pretty close. You need it to be about 12" or more from the wall so the chickens can use it without their tail or face being smushed against the wall.

I know it'll be a hassle to move it but the wood supports you have at the ends look to be long enough to let you move it out another 4" from the back wall.It’s only 8 inches from the wall but could they face their heads toward the wall?

But they generally don't.
I guess they like a solid wall at their backs and their faces toward possible danger?
Beautiful setting and coop!The only thing that is going to withstand that is a solid roof on a solid structure.
I use a thick layer of wood shavings and put an extra bag of hemp or pine shavings in the coop. The get wrapped in reinforced poly sheeting to block the wind.
