Chicken run, but how tall?

Can they fly?
If they can fly - taller - about 6ft., maybe more.

I have always free-ranged my birds. But lately I've had some predator problems, so I've been keeping them up. My original chicken pen has a 4 foot fence. Most of my chickens can fly out of it if they want to. Some of the heavier girls can't, like my big buff orps. And then there are some that probably could, but don't.

And the other half of them can and will. They are currently living in a covered duck pen with my broody muscovy. That pen is 6 feet high and the top is netted. Some of my lighter-bodied birds could get out of there without the netting. For example, my Easter Eggers and Blue Andalusians have been seen bouncing off the netting on several occasions.

If I were you, I'd go 6 feet. And hope for the best.
